Skin Glow Sugar Scrub
Our Skin Glow Sugar Scrubs will leave you Glowing and will make your skin soft and smooth.
I use to think sugar scrubs were a luxury treatment that you got at a spa. I didn’t realize that not only could I make one, I could really focus on the ingredients I put into it.
- Beyond its ability to pamper you with natural ingredients, a skin glow sugar scrub is a good choice to exfoliate and smooth your skin, even if it’s extremely sensitive.
- Sugar scrubs brighten tired, dull-looking skin to promote healthy, smooth, and flawless skin.
- Sugar scrubs also fight skin aging in a natural way.
- Another benefit of a sugar scrub is that it can be used all over the body, not just the face. Just like the face, the body needs exfoliation, too!
- To help free ingrown hairs, you can use a sugar scrub in a circular motion, which is less abrasive than a back and forth movement on your skin.
- Our Skin Glow Sugar Scrubs make great gifts for family, friends, or party favors.
There are several good times to use a sugar scrub on your skin:
- Weekly to maintain soft, smooth skin.
- Before you shave your legs (If you don’t have sensitive skin).
- To prep skin before a spray tan.
- When you have ingrown hairs.
Now, lets talk about what I put into the skin glow sugar scrub!
Ingredients: Organic Cane Sugar, Organic Geranium Essential Oil, Organic Lavender Essential Oil, Organic Rosemary Essential Oil, Vitamin E., Sweet Almond Oil, & Self Heal Extract.
Organic Cane Sugar
Sugar cane contains minerals that are good for your body. Along with the glycolic acid found in natural sugars, the minerals can be protective for your skin keeping toxins out.
Geranium Oil
Used by the Egyptians for promoting beautiful and radiant skin. Geranium oil is now used to treat acne, reduce inflammation, alleviate anxiety and balance hormones. Read more on Geranium Oil benefits here!
Lavender Oil
Used for centuries to treat various skin conditions. improves the circulation by adding oxygen to the skin cells. Lavender in your skincare products can help to equalize the skin’s pH balance. It moisturizes and controls the oils in your skin. Your skin will be more supple and healthy-looking without dry or flaky patches.
Rosemary Oil
Used by Ancient Greeks for improving memory and concentration – students hung it on doorways or made garlands to fill the air with its refreshing herbal scent that has memory boosting properties. But did you know that it was also used to enhance beauty and heal various skin problems?
Rosemary essential oil has powerful antibacterial, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and astringent properties that all work together to fight off acne and prevent more from showing up. Its antiseptic properties kill off acne causing germs and also make it a great solution for popped pimple wounds which can get re-infected by acne germs.
Vitamin E
It’s been well established that vitamin E is great for all skin types, for a variety of reasons.
Helps Prevent Blackheads.
Reduces the oxidation of sebum on our skin, helping minimize the process of it turning a dark color and clogging pores. Helps Preserve Your Skin’s Protective Barrier. Vitamin e can help keep your lipid barrier hydrated and keep it sealed up with a protective barrier. This is super important when you want to protect your skin from environmental effects. Provides Antioxidant Benefits. Vitamin e helps neutralize free radicals and give skin the power it needs to fight the effects of pollution, sun, and all things related to the environment. Gives Longer Lasting Moisture Protection. Vitamin e helps fill the tiny cracks in our skin, which with very close inspection, is not a truly even surface with microscopic valleys that are quite hard to see with the naked eye. The inclusion of Vitamin e will help seal up your skin and add more moisturize, which is something we all can benefit from regardless of your age or skin type. Helps Heal Wounds. Some clinical trials have shown that using vitamin e topically can help reduce skin surface oxidative stress and therefore speeds up healing time.
Relieves Eczema and Psoriasis. Skin care studies have shown that using vitamin e can reduce the symptoms of eczema and psoriasis, and is even safe for sensitive skin. Zero individuals in these studies showed any indication of irritation when used properly.
Treats Fine Lines and Scarring. Including vitamin e in your skin care routine is essential for the reduction, preventing, and correction of fine lines and scarring.
Sweet Almond Oil
“is almond oil good for the face?” Using sweet almond oil for face moisturizing can help keep the pores clear and the skin healthy, so, yes! It is great for your facial routine, too! The natural properties of almond oil may help remove the sebum our skin produces that often leads to acne. It can help remove dirt, unnecessary oils and impurities from our pores as well. Amazing! Sweet almond oil is very quick to absorb into the skin, making it great for all complexions and skin types. It is also a very light oil, so it will not leave your skin feeling greasy. There are not many disadvantages of using almond oil (unless you are allergic, of course!) The benefits of almond oil for your face are seemingly endless. AND – when paired with other ingredients, sweet almond oil is even more powerful.
Self Heal Extract
Wild harvested in Vermont, Self Heal, Prunella vulgaris, is one of those plants that seems able to do everything. we love using it in our soaps. For an extensive article on it read this!
Self Heal is one of the most widely studied herbs, yet has remained one of the best kept herbal secrets. It has been used for its skin and wound healing capabilities as well as its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities and much much more.
